POPLIVE researchers study the value of the Popronde

The Popronde is a prominent traveling showcase festival for Dutch pop artist. Every autumn, 40 Dutch cities devote one day to pop talent. Out of many submissions, a hundred emerging artist are selected fot the festival. During the editions of 2025 and 2026, POPLIVE researchers Martijn Mulder and Erik Hitters will study the value of the showcase festival. First, the contribution of the Popronde to the developent chain of pop artist. Second, the social-cultural contribution of the festival and third, its economic value. De Popronde is een van de belangrijkste Nederlandse showcasefestivals voor popartiesten. Elk najaar wijden 40 Nederlandse steden één dag aan poptalent. Uit vele inzendingen worden honderd opkomende artiesten geselecteerd voor het reizende festival. Tijdens de edities van 2025 en 2026 zullen POPLIVE-onderzoekers Martijn Mulder en Erik Hitters de waarde van het showcasefestival bestuderen. Ten eerste de bijdrage van de Popronde aan de ontwikkelingsketen van popartiesten. Ten tweede de sociaal-culturele bijdrage van het festival en ten derde de economische waarde ervan.
